I've just come in from a superb concert on the Great Organ at the Abbey performed by the sub-organist, James McVinnie. The nave was packed with fellow enthusiasts. The best piece was From The Art of Fugue (BWV 1080), movements V and XI. The concert was the perfect bookend to my fiasco, being somewhat salutary. Those of you who sent prayers for me to offer at Walsingham should know that I felt led to offer them at the Abbey in Henry VII's Lady Chapel, which according to English historiographer John Leland, is a miraculum orbis (a wonder of the world) all on its own.
